Archer is a slab serif font family, was developed in 2001 by Tobias Frere-Jones and Jonathan Hoefler specifically for use in Martha Stewart Living magazine. It was subsequently made available for commercial licensing by Hoefler & Frere-Jones. Characterized by its geometric slab serif style, Archer shares design similarities with sans serif fonts.
It has been inspired by mid-20th-century designs like Rockwell font. This font contains a total of 9 styles and 5 weights including bold, hairline, light, book, and medium and matching italics as well as small-cap styles. Each weight of the typeface has an interesting set of characters including uppercase, lowercase, numbers, punctuation marks, symbols, and icons that give good legibility to designs.
